Schedule your appointment for your Sun-kissed💋 spray tan 24 - 48 hours prior to your special occasion or event. Airbrushed tans generally require 8-10 hours to set in and activate on the skin, Rapid tan take up to 24 hrs to fully develop, so you want to give yourself plenty of time before your occasion.

Get your mani/pedi the day before the session.
Please book hair & eyelash appointments PRIOR to your spray tan.
Please be aware that if you are PMSing, or on your first couple of days of your menstrual cycle, the spray tan can either developed very light or not at all. 1 out of 50 clients experience this. Please schedule accordingly whenever possible.

If you had a recent sunburn - even as far as a month ago - please know that there is a high probability that your spray tan will look blotchy & your skin could peel wherever you have been sunburned, regardless if you peeled or not. Sunburned skin is damaged skin and very dry skin. I strongly advise, in order to avoid me having to send you home without getting a spray tan, to re-schedule your appointment until some sufficient time has passed for your skin to heal.

The week before your appointment, if possible, please moisturize your skin daily.
Hydrations helps prepare your skin, and will make your tan last longer.

On the day before your appointment shave all areas of your body that you normally shave with a fresh razor using your hair conditioner.
Use a plain razor only, no moisturizing strips razor allowed & shaving gels are typically too drying for your skin, so skip shaving gels.
Shaving on the day of your spray tan may result in unattractive dark tiny pin points on your skin.
Wax at least two days prior to your airbrushed tan, 4 days if you rarely wax.

Wash your body thoroughly with a non-moisturizing OIL FREE soap, or body wash the night before your appointment.
NO DOVE SOAP PRODUCTS for at least 2 days before your appointment.
Using a loofah, glove or body scrub mitt,  EXFOLIATE   that body! Slough it all off!
Pay extra attention to your knees, heels, elbows, ARMPITS and NECK as this is where we tend to have extra patches of rough dry skin.
DO NOT use an OIL based scrub product
Moisturize really well with an OIL FREE product afterwards.

On the  day of you Sun-kissed💋session  - You MUST shower & exfoliate your body AGAIN with non-moisturizing OIL FREE soap, (Pears soap) or preferably no product at all, to remove any residual moisturizer, perfumes or deodorant,  but please DO NOT  apply any lotions, deodorants, perfumes, or make-up.

If you can not avoid deodorant, or makeup, we will remove it at your session.

Washing with a glycerine bar soap, such as 'Pears' transparent original bar soap, leaves the least amount of soap residual on your skin. Your skin can now easily absorb the spray tanning formula that will give you a beautiful and flawless
 Sun-kissed💋 airbrushed tan.
AVOID wearing any make-up. If you must wear make-up (most of us prefer to) it can be washed off right before your session.

If you wore a bandage recently, or have used sports tape on your body, please be sure to remove all residual 'glue' from the tape/bandage. It might be invisible to you, but sunless solutions will not be able to penetrate it, and wherever you have residual 'glue' left on your body, those spots will not tan. You must exfoliate really well to make sure there is nothing left on your body.

Please do not shower right before your appointment - NO MATTER WHAT, you must allow at least a 4 hour gap between your appointment & your shower, otherwise your skins ph balance will be off which can effect the outcome of your tan, creating a much lighter tan, or, worst case scenario, not develop at all.

Wear VERY loose-fitting clothes (& wide necked tops), I REPEAT, PLEASE WEAR VERY LOOSE FITTING, dark clothing to your appointment, or bring them with you. Please also wear regular flip-flops as well. No jeans, or jeans shorts, no tight waisted or elastic clothes, no leggings, no tight narrow neck tops, such as a regular t-shirt and hoddies. No sleeveless tops, No socks, sneakers or cowboy boots.
Anything tight against the skin, and therefore rubbing your skin as you are getting dressed after your session, and while your tan develops, is abrasive and will most likely rub off some of the spray tan solution before it has a chance to set in. This will cause some possible streaking, spots, or areas of your body that will not darken as the rest of you.

Your airbrush tan will set in 8 hours after your session.
(Rapid tans in 2-4)
If there is a chance of rain, even as low as a 10% chance of rain, please bring an umbrella. Even just a few drops of rain can damage your spray tan.
Park as close to my front door as possible to avoid any exposure to rain drops.
On hot days, please park in the shade in my driveway and leave windows rolled down to allow the breeze to keep your car cooler. Leather/vinyl seats? Bring a large towel to cover so that you avoid sweating off your fresh tan from sitting on a hot leather/vinyl seat.

Please inform me of any skin problems, trouble spots, or any issues you may have had with other sunless tanning products.

The application time takes approximately 10 minutes, but plan on a total of 20 - 30 minutes for your appointment time. New clients need some extra time to fill out some paperwork, instructions, maintenance tips etc prior to being airbrushed.
You can wear anything you are comfortable with during the session.
Most of my clients go topless and wear thong underwear, others wear nothing at all.

Do not worry if your hands and feet appear lighter than the rest of your body. These areas are purposely sprayed lightly because they develop more intensely than the other areas of the body.
You must avoid all liquids/lotions until after your first shower.
Post-Care: Sun-kissed💋 Spray Tanning

Avoid wearing tight clothing such as jeans, socks, bra, tights/leggings, watch, necklaces, sneakers etc until after your rinse. I can not stress this enough.
Think light summer dresses, flowy pants and tops and baggy, loose waisted drawstring sweat pants (not elastic) and wide necked tops for the cooler months.
Do not apply moisturizer, deodorant, perfumes,or foundation until after your first shower.
I strongly recommend to wear loose fitting long pants and long sleeve tops Pajamas if you have an appointment that requires a rinse the following morning.
Loose top and loose bottoms.

While your Sun-kissed💋 tan is developing, and before your rinse, avoid any physical exercise, heat or other situations where you may sweat. Also avoid situations where you may potentially get wet - even your dog licking you, since they might like the new smell and taste of you - these factors can affect the outcome of your airbrushed tan while it is developing. If this does occur, pat the affected area lightly with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub!!
Typically your spray tan will be unaffected and just the surface bronzers will appear blemished, but the actual result won't show until after showering.

Your first rinse should be nothing more then a 2-3 minute wam water rinse -
NO soaps, Shampoos, or conditioners, just gently rinse off the bronzer.
PAT dry, never ever rub dry after any showers while you have a spray tan on your body, and moisturize generously daily, twice daily whenever possible if you have dry skin.
Please do not leave the bronzer on your skin past 12 hrs - 16hrs  (Your skin needs to be moisturized. Keeping it on longer will not make you darker, and can actually make your tan fade faster and unevenly. I know it is tempting to keep that fresh tanned look, but I strongly advise not to ‘keep’ that look, the sooner after the 8 hrs on your skin the better.
Your tan will last 8-10+ days if you follow my instructions.
Exercising within the first 36 hours after a spray is not recommended. Please know that sweating, pool and ocean water exposure, will shorten the life of your tan and can cause blotchyness.
Sneakers, socks and sweat will make the tan on your feet fade faster & often unevenly.

Please MOISTURIZE!!!!
You must avoid any products that contains MINERAL OIL
such as Aveeno, Lubriderm.
Mineral oil is a common ingredient in baby lotions, cold creams, ointments and cosmetics.
Paraffins, a derivable from petroleum (mineral oil), are obtained from residues of the mineral oil production. They are cheap to create and are a substance found in many body lotions and moisturizer creams.
Paraffin can be easily identified on the list of ingredients as:
Paraffinum Liquidum
Paraffin Wax
Paraffin Oil or
Mineral Oil

Also avoid lotions with a high alcohol content such a CeraVe.
Do not use acne products, or acne spot treatments, as they will
cause unsightly white spots.

Please read my maintenance page.
There is a long list of Sun-kissed💋 approved moisturizers,
face wash products & Sunscreen products.
I highly recommend to purchase the correct products before your
Sun-kissed💋 session.

Be sure to read the label because most lotions contain that yucky paraben!

Avoid chlorinated swimming pools or hot jacuzzis during the life of your airbrush tan as chlorine & hot water, hot showers as well, will strip the product from your skin.
Short, cool/warm water showers will make your tan last much longer.
Always remember to apply a high spectrum SPF sunscreen lotion, because although you may look brown after a Sun-kissed💋 airbrush tan your skin still burns as fiercely as it normally would.

Please do not pee in the shower with a spray tan, the amonia in the
urine will cause your tan to streak.

Herbal Essences shampoo & conditioner has been known to strip a spray tan, so I suggest to avoid using it.
After every shower, I recommend using an approved post-sunless moisturizer tan extender. Approved daily post-sunless moisturizers contain hints of the active ingredient DHA, which will prolong and protect the life of your sunless tan.

Shave the least amount of times possible as each shave removes a bit of tan. Always use a brand new razor, without a moisturizing strip, and barely touch you skin as you shave. Use a bit of your hair conditioner as a shaving product.

After 6-7 days, depending on your speed of fading, GENTLY exfoliate your skin (head to toe) each day so that your tan fades evenly. We have all seen those people who look patchy holding on to their spray tan for dear life, I am sure you wish to avoid that!

If you cancel without at least a 24 hour notice, you will be charged a $40 cancellation fee
Please take a moment to read my policy page. Thank you 💋

Other facts to keep in mind:

A woman's tan might develop differently depending on hormonal changes. (ovulation, menstruation, new meds incl. birth control, stress & pregnancy).
While not common, hormones may cause streakiness, patchiness, uneven fade, or produce little to no color.
Do not use AHA products (Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Glycolic, Lactic, Malic, Citric, and Tartaric acids)
Anti-acne products that exfoliate, or dry the skin such as Accutane, and Salicylic acid, can affect tan fading. Skin can also peel, which can look unacceptable, especially with a tan.

Antibiotics or other medications can also affect your tan.
Anti-aging products that “renew” or “refresh” or otherwise exfoliate skin.
Band-Aids, or adhesive tape, applied to skin will pull the “tan” off.
No bar soaps, especially deodorant, or antibacterial varieties.

One bar soap and/or shower gel in particular to avoid is Dove.
Curel lotions also have been known to ruin a tan.
No BHA Products (Beta Hydroxy Acids-salicylic acid)
Body hair bleach products will bleach the tan, non-bleach skin lighteners are fine.
Bore type adhesive facial strips, or “peel-off” masks
Bug spray, perfumes, body sprays when sprayed directly onto skin, can remove, fade or crack the tan. Instead, spray clothing instead of directly onto skin.
Facial masks and exfoliating scrubs. It is recommended that you do these before a spray tan.
Hair Inhibiting Lotions (Jergens, etc.) tend to make a sunless tan yellow.
If you exercise and sweat heavily your tan can fade faster, especially in body fold areas. (arm bends, armpits, knee bends, between breasts etc.)
If you use hand lotion daily please make sure it is also spray tan approved.
